Trouble Brewing at the Porter House

*UPDATE* This ad has now been removed and we have received confirmation that Porterhouse will no longer be advertising through Jobbridge.

Last Friday, the 11th of September,  ‪#‎WorkMustPay‬ activists paid a visit to the Porter House pub on Nassau Street Dublin, who were advertising for a Restaurant Operations Manager through JobBridge. This was not the company’s first ad. We received a great response from passers by with 100’s of leaflets handed out, which more than made up for the hostile reception and verbal abuse we received from Porterhouse management.

#WorkMustPay demands an end to JobBridge, an end to free labour schemes and an end to the exploitation of workers, young and old. We call on activists to join in our campaign and demand that work pays a living wage! Please contact us at if you would like to be notified of future pickets. You can also find us on facebook and twitter.

Hi! Do yous ever advertise the actions beforehand? (I’m not on facebook). Also, is workmustpay affiliated with or connected to any organisation/union/party?

    Sound, Conor

Hi Conor, we do advertise but it is facebook-centric. We do send out an email as well. Just drop a line saying you’d like to be kept up to date. You’ll get an email a day or two before the protest and letting you know where to meet us before we move on to our target.

WorkMustPay has a number of people from different groups coming together – We have youth members from Trade Unions and left wing political groups such as Unite the Union, Communication Workers Union, The Connolly Youth Movement, Sinn Fein Republican Youth and The Workers Party. Co-operation is paramount and other more fractious issues are left to the side so we can focus on the fight against Jobbridge.
